A place to relax and escape the pressures of home and work. A chance to play with the children in a stunning and safe environment and take long, unhurried walks up and down the beach. It is a fantastic location to completely unwind in the pool or at the bar. A snorkel and dive around the tropical coral of the Gili islands is just 5 minutes by boat from the villa.

The villa is designed around a central courtyard and then develops westwards through the sitting room to the infinity pool and beyond to the beach. The garden bedrooms at the eastern side of the courtyard back onto the villa’s own orchard. The buildings are of a traditional Indonesian style of architecture constructed of high-quality local materials.

Sira Beach is a ribbon of virgin white sand, next to a spectacular 18 hole-golf course, coconut plantations, and a quiet village where local life continues in much the same way as it has done for centuries. The awesome views from the beach and the gardens of Villa Sepoi Sepoi take in Lombok’s towering Mount Rinjani, flanked by forests, fields, jungle, pristine beaches, the tiny port of Bangsal and the three sun- soaked Gili Islands.

There is also a day bed for a nanny. The Chinese room has a double bed and a lovely view out towards the sea. Both rooms enjoy access to a secluded sand garden with chairs for a quiet nap or undisturbed reading. Both rooms have large en- suite bathrooms with large bath tubs and walk-in showers as well as private out-door showers at the back.

The Yellow (Frangipani Room) & Orange Bedroom (Hibiscus Room)

The Yellow and Orange rooms form the eastern side of the courtyard and back onto the villa’s own orchard with a tranquil, rustic feel. One can relax on a daybed and watch the birds and butterflies. The Yellow room has a large double bed with its own en-suite bathroom and outdoor shower. The Orange room has the same 4 large single bed arrangement as the Blue room.

The Green Bedroom (Sea Breeze Room)

The Green room is a stand-alone beach bedroom situated in the gardens with beautiful views directly onto the beach. There is a large double bed with a private terrace with sunbeds for total peace.

Every bathroom is fully equipped with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and bath-salts made of tea and honey. Robes, slippers and towels are also provided for the guests’ use. All the hot-water is solar-powered in order to reduce the impact on the environment. Similarly, towels will only be replaced daily at the guests’ request to reduce excessive laundry.

Dining Pavilion

The dining room is on the corner of the main courtyard and has wonderful views of the beach and sunsets. With a stunning 14 seated teak table, guests will enjoy the tantalizing food produced by our chef and his team. Special occasions can be catered for by advance request. The large modern kitchen is conveniently positioned next door to the dining room and is fully equipped with imported appliances, utensils, glassware and tableware.

Pool, Garden and Beach

The infinity pool is between the sitting room and the beach and is the perfect place for splashing around with the children or swimming lengths. There are numerous sunbeds either under the shade of the coconut trees or in the pool bale at the end of the pool overlooking the beach. The swimming pool is set well back from the beach and is very private. There is also a bar for those who wish to tell tales while watching the sun set.

The gardens are a tropical explosion of colour and lushness. Local flora includes frangipanis, bougainvilleas, lotus trees and other exotic species. The orchard at the rear of the villa makes for a wonderful children’s secret garden and the large lawn leading down the beach doubles up well as a most exotic mini cricket pitch. The beach is perfect with white sand and calm waters along the Sire Bay.

The sea shelves gradually so guests can swim in the crystal clear shallows (children should always be accompanied by adults). The beach itself is ideal for long walks or jogs. Or guests can just sit and watch the local fishermen haul in their daily catch. And of course, the sea breeze, the sepoi- sepoi, is always there to gently blow away your worldly cares.

Entertainment Room

The Entertainment/TV room is located under the Dining Pavilion. The room is equipped with a ceiling fan, teak wall units, and a large satellite TV mounted upon the wall, complete with surround sound, a DVD/CD player, and a Wii Game System.

The furnishings – two large sofas, a glass-topped antique coffee table and two ottomans – can be pushed back against the wall to create an impressive party space. In one corner is a bar that can double as a DJ’s nook. Glass doors open from the Entertainment Room onto a terrace with a pergola supported by serai stone pillars beside the pool deck facilitating relaxed BBQs and informal dining.

Kitchen

There are two fully equipped kitchens at Puri Bawana, a service kitchen and a state-of-the-art central kitchen positioned next to the dining pavilion and linked by a large service bar. This immaculate, designer central kitchen reveals a discriminating taste for functional beauty and cutting-edge style. Dining

Our chef and his team offer a selection of Western and local dishes with plenty of fresh seafood for those guests who wish. We aim to provide a very cost effective food and drink service in comparison to five star hotel prices. After breakfast the chef discusses lunch and dinner menus with the guests.

  • The menu
Sepoi-Sepoi strongly recommends that guests take the pre-suggested Starting Menu for the first 4 meals. That Starting Menu will be sent to you. Upon arrival at Sepoi-Sepoi, clients will be asked for cash to cover the Starting Menu costs. They will also be asked to put down a deposit or ‘float’ for the villa food and beverage account.
  • The System
Guests of the villa need to think somewhat in advance about their meals, especially as all foodstuffs are purchased at considerable distance for the villa and some specialty items are ordered from off-island.

Meals need to be planned at least 36 hours in advance so that there is time to ensure the correct ingredients have been purchased and in the house.

  • Food and Beverage charges
Food and beverage items are charged based on grocery cost system plus 15% tax and service. Guests will need to provide some money in advance and the staff will do the shopping for you and keep the receipts for your reference.

The recommended starting budget is 3million Rupiah (approximately 270USD). Thereafter the staff will do food shopping based on client meal requests, and will always keep a copy of bills paid on file so clients can review. Clients are responsible to keep the ‘float’ in the positive. Staff will indicate to guests when money is running low and needs to be topped up. Please note the pricing for all goods will be done in Indonesian Rupiah.

About Lombok

Money Matters
Please note that Lombok is essentially a cash society. Outside of dining in the hotels, you will be unable to use Credit Cards. Therefore clients of Sepoi-Sepoi are urged to bring a substantial amount of cash with them for their incidentals (boat trips, tours, transport, massage & spa treatments);

Some indications for pricing:

  • Massage – Rp 250.000
  • One way pickup from Sira Beach Area to airport Rp 250,000 (using 7-seater van) – 500,000 (mini-bus that seats 11)
  • Waterfall tour Rp 650,000
  • Boat trip to Gili Trawangan island by fishing boat Rp 800,000 (max. 5 persons/boat)

* please note the above prices are given for indication and can change without notice.

ATMs are available in Lombok but the closest are located in the town Senggigi and the airport (both are over 45 mins drive from the villa). To convert currencies (‘Change-money’ in local parlance) one must also go to Senggigi. Please note the exchange rate of all currencies is done at ‘Lombok-rate’ which differs from whatever rate exists on the internet (which is normally the interbank rate) and is not as favorable as the street rate in Bali and Jakarta.Staff from the villa can go and change money on behalf of clients (by physically taking foreign currency and driving to Senggigi and visiting a money changer or bank) – but please note this needs to be organized once clients are on the ground, at the convenience of the staff. If clients wish to wire (perform a Telex Transfer or TT) money down in advance of their stay through the villa accounts they are welcome to do so. Please note the account that clients will be wiring to is denominated in Rupiah (and the resulting amount of money received will have already been converted from foreign currency through the transfer process). Clients can then have this money either credited to their account at the villa or given to them in cash.

Things to Do

For those who seek excitement in an environment of absolute privacy, we offer a wide range of activities to choose from.

  • Nearby are traditional Sasak villages, waterfalls and fabulous trails up to the Rinjani volcano and the famous Gili islands to explore.
  • Around the Gili islands, the fishing, snorkeling and diving are sensational and encounters with giant sea turtles likely. The Anandita beach is surrounded by a well preserved coral reef, teaming with exotic and colorful fish. You can decide to try our sea kayaks and row across the gentle waters along the coast of the Bay, or charter an outrigger boat for a picnic party on one of the Gili islands.
  • On a walk or bicycle ride around the bay through the tapioca fields and coconut plantations, you will come across villagers tending their crops, plowing their fields with buffaloes or attending their horses, smiling and waiving, children laughing and villagers welcoming you for a chat. Life moves at a slow pace around Lombok. Horse Carts can be rented from the local village for an easy, relaxed sightseeing tour of the village.
  • Early in the morning, a visit to the nearby market provides interesting insights into the daily life of the local people. All kinds of commodities: fish, meat, spices, fruits, vegetables, clothes, utensils and souvenirs are on display. (This is an absolute “must see” to get a feel of the island and its charm.
  • Those keen on playing golf will not have to go further than a few hundred meters to reach the club house of the 18 holes Kosaido golf course, with stunning views on the valleys, the mountains and the turquoise sea.
  • Besides attending to your daily needs, our staff will be happy to challenge you for a volleyball game at the end of the afternoon and to relax after a long day outdoor. BBQ diner can be served on the beach or under the coconut trees, where the sky and the stars will be your only roof. On request, a local band can enliven your evening with songs and music of past and present.
